The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, NIT Durgapur is the institution's official Entrepreneurship Promoting student body. Through a plethora of initiatives throughout the year, we remain steadfast to our sole dream of creating a sustainable and diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem where the young and the elderly come together to make entrepreneurship a common reality in India.
Innovation and Incubation Council
Innovation and Incubation Council, NIT Durgapur is NIT Durgapur's
very own incubation body, established under the Ministry of
Education, Govt. of India. EDC, NIT Durgapur is an integral part of
IIIC, NIT Durgapur and works together with the faculty members of
IIIC to carry out various entrepreneurial activities and projects in
the campus.
Our Events
EDC's numerous events enjoys overwhelming participation from
students in NIT Durgapur, and across the country. Some of our
flagship events are:
E-SUMMIT:The second largest E-Summit in eastern
India, graced by the biggest entrepreneurs and celebrity speakers.
BizzCup: A fun event designed exclusively for the freshmen students.
Pitchfest: A nationwide B-Plan Competition, with huge funding and
mentorship opportunities for winning proposals. Hult Prize: On
Campus Round of the renowned international competition, Hult Prize
organised every year by EDC NIT Durgapur and the list goes on.
Our Journey
In 2015, inspired by a desire to instil an entrepreneurial culture
in NIT Durgapur, a group of three friends decided to start the first
independent Entrepreneurship Cell of the College. What began as a
small endeavour by three young minds has today risen to stand tall
with over 70 members, achieving unimaginable things in just a span
of few years. This journey would have never been possible without
EDC's incredible alumni who have worked ever so tirelessly to take
the clubs to the height it has scaled. Today, EDC proudly figures
among the most prolific entrepreneurship cells of the country, and
we only hope to get bigger and better in the years to come!

KENAKATASwarnendu Mondal, Shubham Khesri, Oindrilla Ghosh Dastidar"Kenakata was an "OLA of NITD" where a buyer used to post his needs
in the Facebook page of Kenakata and the person who had that item
used to comment on that post. Items like Yoga mats, books were
exchanged through this platform. The future aspect of 'Kenakata' is
known as 'Shikshamani' where people can post their questions and the
person providing answers will get some perks form the local market.
The founders can generate revenue from advertisement."
JUSTHASHTAGSPranoy Ray, Swarupjit Palit"Just Hashtags is a social platform for designing and manufacturing
of customised T-shirts. Founded in April 2016, Just Hashtags usually
takes bulk orders from schools, college and corporate houses and
makes T-shirts specific to their requirements at extremely
reasonable prices."

PRINTEXShaswat Srivastav, Manish Awasthi, Adarsh Shaw, Jayant Mishra, Avijeet Tiwari, Akash Pandey"Looking at the difficulties faced by the students of NITD to avail
print out of documents, the founders of Printex came up with this
start up plan in the year 2017. Printex came up with a vision to
provide 24x7 printing facilities within the hostel premises itself.
They provided printouts and photocopies at reasonable costs within
the premises of the hostel round the day."
PEDALS GOKaushik, Gaurav, Shane"PedalsGo is mainly working on cycle rental where booking is done via call. This is basically a campus connect programme where the cycle rental facilities are provided to the campus residents. It is a platform which is integrating many cycles under one umbrella. In future, PedalsGo will work automatically, where booking will be done through an app. Not only cycles but also electric scooters will be provided in future. The vehicles will be tracked through their entire journey.
